About
Nestled between the more famous Hyams Beach and Chinamans Beach lies this intimate stretch of sand, known by locals as both Hyams Point Beach and Little Hyams Beach. This compact slice of paradise shares the same powdery white sand that made its bigger neighbor famous, but with a more secluded feel.
Protected by the natural curve of the bay and surrounding bushland, the beach offers calm, crystal-clear waters perfect for a peaceful swim. The gentle slope of the seafloor makes it particularly appealing for families with young children, while the rocky outcrops at either end create excellent spots for snorkeling.
Access is via a short bush track that winds down from Cyrus Street, adding to the beach's hidden gem status. During low tide, you can walk around the rocks from Hyams Beach, though time your return carefully as this route disappears when the water rises.
Unlike its more popular neighbor, Little Hyams often provides a quieter alternative during peak seasons, making it an ideal escape for those seeking a more tranquil beach experience. The orientation of the beach also offers protection from stronger southerly winds, making it a pleasant spot even on breezier days.
