About
Nelsons Beach sweeps along the coastline of Vincentia in a graceful 1.5-kilometer arc, offering expansive views across Jervis Bay's turquoise waters. This family-friendly beach combines the region's signature white sand with calm, protected waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming and beach activities.
The beach's length provides plenty of space to find your own perfect spot, even during busier periods. The northern end connects with Blenheim Beach, while the southern section curves toward the Vincentia shopping precinct, offering convenient access to cafes and amenities.
Multiple access points along Plantation Point Parade make it easy to reach the beach, with several small car parks and walking tracks leading to the sand. The Vincentia Coastal Walk runs parallel to the beach, offering elevated views and connecting to neighboring beaches for those wanting to explore further.
The gradual slope into the water creates safe swimming conditions, particularly appealing for families with young children. During calm conditions, the clear waters make it perfect for snorkeling, especially around the rocky sections at either end. The beach's east-facing position provides protection from afternoon winds, while still capturing stunning sunrise views across the bay.
Keep an eye out for dolphins that frequently visit these waters, and during migration season (May to November), you might spot whales breaching further out in the bay. The beachside pathway makes this an excellent spot for a morning walk or sunset stroll, with plenty of benches along the way to pause and take in the views.
