Boatshed Beach
Tasmania, Australia
About
Boatshed Beach provides fantastic views over Dove Lake and Cradle Mountain. While it might not be the classic sunbathing spot, the views and the nearby trails make it great for beach lovers who also love to hike. It’s located within the Cradle Mountain & Lake St Clair National Park National Park so you will need to pay for a park ticket to be able to get to this beach.
You will pass this beach on one of Tasmania's most popular walks, the Dove Lake Circuit which is an easy 95 minute hike. This beach is only a few minutes walk from the start / end of the hike and is easy to find. You will know you are in the right spot when you see the boatshed which was built in the 1940s, by the first Ranger at Cradle Mountain, Lionell Connell. The beach and the boatshed are now a popular location for weddings.
