Addiscot Beach
Surf Coast Shire, Victoria
About
Just 10 minutes from Anglesea lies the impressive Addiscot Beach, where 1.8km of pristine coastline meets dramatic red cliffs. The beach's natural beauty is showcased by its distinctive landscape, with towering cliffs reaching up to 80 meters near Jarosite Headland.
This optional dress (nude) beach is accessible via a scenic walking track from the Point Addis car park. The southern end offers the safest swimming conditions, with calmer waters and protection from the elements. However, visitors should exercise caution further north, where stronger rips develop and cliff conditions can be hazardous.
Surfers will find excellent beach breaks throughout, with wave quality intensifying toward Jarosite Headland. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck from the rocks at Point Addis, though care should be taken during high tide when waves can sweep across the rocks.
The beach's southern corner serves as an ideal base for visitors, offering the best combination of safe swimming conditions and shelter. From here, you can take in the full spectacle of the coastline, where the interplay of sand, sea, and towering cliffs creates a remarkable coastal landscape.
