Jakes Point
Shire of Northampton, Western Australia
About
Jakes Point (also known as Jacques Point) is a legendary surf break nestled along Western Australia's rugged coastline, just a short 5-minute drive south of Kalbarri. The beach sits beneath dramatic red cliffs that provide a stunning natural backdrop to the powerful waves below. Surfers flock here for the consistent left-hand reef break, particularly during winter swells.
The beach offers ample free parking, making it easily accessible for visitors. While there aren't any permanent facilities on the beach itself, a charming mobile café trailer stationed in a layby on Red Bluff Road provides refreshments – a welcome sight for surfers and spectators alike. The elevated viewing area atop the cliffs offers spectacular vantage points for whale watching during migration season and watching surfers tackle the waves below.
Given the remote nature of the spot and limited amenities, visitors should come prepared with their own water, sun protection, and any beach essentials they might need.
